Sayins by Alma

One hundred acres of love,

happiness in our heart it did fill.

Animals we had just about one of each

and tricks to them we did teach.

Little lambs were so cute and frilly,

one of them we called Billy.

They would jump from our porch and in our arms,

we helped them to the barn and kept them from harm.

Love this old Farm on the hill and I always will.

A Big Barn on a River Bottom Farm

Lots of land to work and animals to feed.

We learned at an early age,

want’s didn’t matter just our need.

The ground gave us our bread,

also the vegetables to.

 We always got fed.

If that old barn could have talked

 it would have said,

come on kids and play one more time in my hay bed.

On that farm it was happiness and glee.

Oh yes but now only memories.

The old Barn is covered in water you see.

And this my Heart it tore,

that was years ago i’ll live there no more.

About Mammy Oaklee

A wife, mother, grand-mother, farmer and wrinkly ol' writer, who's finally got some roots planted in 'The Heart of the BottomsUP 2/3 Acre.' A born and raised city-chick, who found many'a smiles where her heart had always longed to be, in the country. Digging in as close to the beginning of creations, and finding wonderment with a smile. I live my life as a rollar-coaster adventure, and always adding new dreams as old ones are full-filled. Of course, I write about it all!
