The Trucker & Family of Sisters

Long before the sun comes up a trucker is on his way.

Kissing his wife and children goodbye before the break of day.

Hauling loads from near and far going from state to state,

Not knowing how long he will be gone creates a powerful ache.

For being on the road does pay for the many bill’s that’s due,

But the loneliness that’s ahead is hard to face when time is few.

Blessed be the trucker who’s out there on the busy road,

And may God protect and guide him with the heavy load.

Family of Sisters

I have a family of sisters like no other,

We may be far apart but couldn’t be closer.

The miles between us don’t matter,

For we give each other loving hope and nurture,

I stand beside them through the trials,

Praying for them over the miles.

All of us know this great connection,

And the love for each other that is strengthened.

We have a dream that we know will be due,

Because it is written for us all of us and is true.

About Mammy Oaklee

A wife, mother, grand-mother, farmer and wrinkly ol' writer, who's finally got some roots planted in 'The Heart of the BottomsUP 2/3 Acre.' A born and raised city-chick, who found many'a smiles where her heart had always longed to be, in the country. Digging in as close to the beginning of creations, and finding wonderment with a smile. I live my life as a rollar-coaster adventure, and always adding new dreams as old ones are full-filled. Of course, I write about it all!
